Medion: Attack on the Eee PC

The resounding success of the Eee PC from Asus has caused quite a stir before the CeBIT: Not only Asus wants to introduce new models of their blockbuster seller, but Acer, Dell and HP also belong to the major computer manufacturers who wish to introduce comparable mini PCs. Another manufacturer hopes to join this competition – unfortunately Medion won’t get a chance to present their competitive models at the CeBIT.

Medion has announced a light weight laptop for 399 euros (around £300). That is more than the Eee costs, but the model should come with a built in 10 inch display. The small 7 inch screen remains one of the Eee’s largest frustrations for many people. It’s then completely possible that Medion could develop a quality product. But for the moment everything is speculative as Medion did not release any more exact details regarding their MiniPC.
